AFW is specialized in the design, development and manufacture of aeronautics components for jet engines (gear shafts, etc.), as well as for space systems (CubeSat launchers) and subsystems (AOCS reaction wheels). In particular, AFW has an internal environmental testing department that is used for AFW components as well as for external customers (e.g., DLR, OHB, MPS).

Here is a list of the relevant skills, experience, and technologies available at AFW.

• A fully equipped environmental testing lab for mechanical testing of components, including a mechanical shaker with force vector of up to 35 kN, a shock test rig up to 8000g (depending on DUT mass), and thermal and thermal vacuum testing.
• A running cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute and Helmholtz-Center for radiation testing.
• Test personnel with 20 years of combined testing experience for environmental test.
